El Laboratorio de Neuroquímica y Neurofarmacología liderado por el Dr. Ramón Sotomayor-Zárate ha tenido financiamiento constante durante los últimos 13 años, permitiendo una tasa de 5 publicaciones promedio por año. Además, estos proyectos de investigación han permitido la adquisición de bienes de capital de punta que han fortalecido su capacidad de investigación. Actualmente, el Dr. Sotomayor-Zárate tiene financiamiento como FONDECYT  como Investigador Responsable y Co-Investigador hasta el 31 de marzo de 2028.
